We all know the classic 82 Hans Muth stylized GSX Katana. One if not the most iconic Japanese superbike of all time. The story of this bike starts when SpeedJunkies did a digital rendering based on the brand new in 2016 GSX-R1000 L6 with Katana looks. Tatsuya whos R1 featured here before seen the rendering decided to make something similar with his GSX-R1000 K6. The most difficult part of transforming the superbike was the tank, he married the base of the K6 with the top part of the Katana, after a couple of tries we managed to make it work. The seat took an upwards look due to modification of the second try but it does work on track like that and stays as is. The Bike other than Katana looks spots Brembo and Ohlins Gear front and back, Yoshimura Fuel system , rearsets , billet yokes (not shown here) and Forged wheels. We should see soon some track action pics from Autopolis.

Kawasaki’s first WSBK spec Superbike overshadowed by the popular Slingshot GSXR while Yamaha and Honda followed the Limited production path with their OW01 and RC30 respectively. H1 and H2 are a bit harder to find than the later J and M models in stock form . This is Laurent’s take on this classic superbike, he is going for a TTF1/Endurance look and has a big list of updates. His Bike is setup for street duty as well as club racing and later plans for Bol d’Or Classic 2020 with the Team Rustic.

Chassis & Brakes
Original Kawasaki ZXR 750 H1 1989. Wheels are Marvic Penta magnesium protected by supersticky Pirelli Supercorsa SC2, Swing arm is a H2 Kit one suspended by Ohlins shock and up front RaceTech Valve Kit keeps the stock forks in shape. Up front Spiegler 8 pots billet calipers grab the oversize discs with help from the Goodridge shadow brake lines and a Radial master cylinder PR20. At the back a decent Goodridge brake line is enough.

Engine & Bodywork
Most of the Engine internals for the moment remain stock, Factory Pro Kit for the Carbs paired with a period correct round Yoshimura USA full system complete the breathing department. H2 (race kit) camshafts move the valves that being timed by Factory Pro +4°  ignition. Future mods include head fitted with Abuso valves and Falicon crankshaft, Arias pistons and Mikuni Yoshimura 38mm carbs. The whole package will send horsepower above 130hp. The bodywork although painted in French Stinger stripes is a original endurance kit. Tatsuya is a man who likes his bikes like the rest of us, modified. Actually he likes his bikes heavily modified and he does most of the work alone. He owns a great collection of bikes and we are going to feature them all here but today we get to see his 4XV on its current bumblebee USA team configuration. Started its life as a 1999 R1 but the mods include Ohlins Suspension front and rear with radial calipers. Galespeed Wheels roll it while titanium hand bend exhaust helps the breathing of this beauty and when hitting the mountains twisties Tatsuya’s feet resting on a pair of custom rear sets. As far as looks he choose parts from 3 different decades and it blends perfectly, at the back a 70s TZ Tail going to the stock R1 petrol tank and at the front the FZ750 cyclop endurance nose. All those wrapped by classic bumblebee Team colors with the appropriate decals all around.

Pretty much any motorcycle model in Japan has a hardcore following with customizers, clubs, magazines you name it and Honda’s DOHC (Dual overhead camshaft) CB750/900/1100F is one if not the most popular bike.
Yusuke’s 750F is one of the finest examples with each and every part replaced, modified or restored to the smallest detail. His CB isn’s a garage queen neither, the performance mods (a long list at the end) are there to help him carve the mountains roads safe and fast.
The bike build from the group up with the frame modified by the Aces at AC sanctuary, standing on OZ Racing PIEGA forged wheels and both attached to the bike by Ohlins FG434 forks, and shocks bolted SCULPTURE Swing arm. The Engine breaths with the help of Kerker’s classic Megaphone full system and exotic Mikunis TMR-MJN 36.

I am Chi-hyun Kim, who runs Crazy Garage in Korea. This workshop has been open about 12 years now. 
The concept of the shop is mainly that of making bikes that can be enjoyed on the race circuit or winding roads. 
But we also make choppers and simple scramblers… 
I’m enjoy riding on the circuit with ‘custom bikes’. It has another pleasure.
I do not customize only specific genres. However, functional beauty is the top priority.

2003 KAWASAKI Z1000
kawasaki z1000 was made to participate in KNRR (Korea National Road Race) Steel Master cup.
Class with a specified of 155 horsepower or less and only steel frame bikes.
I made the 2003 z1000 in the old z1 style. And I put Performance Parts in the lower body.
Ohlins suspension,Forged wheels,Brembo brake sytem,Sunstar rotor,Bigger radiator,520 race chain,FCC clutch,Dynojet PCV,HM quickshiter ETC…
The concept is ‘A wolf wearing a sheepskin’.
I’ve competed with a lot of the latest Ducati and I became the 2018 season class champion.
It was a very interesting experience.

Cadwell Suzuki Classic Trackday 2019.

What if we had a time tunnel back to the early 80s ? That would be the bike AMA Suzuki hot kid Wes Cooley. Commissioned/Build in UK by Journalist (Sideburn magazine) Gary Inman, switched hands to another Brit Retro SBK fan. After a few upgrades ended up in Austria in the safe hands of Slightshot/oilcooled (more of that soon) Freak Paul Apa. Future plans include a paint job , a custom made in Japan hydraulic dry clutch and some other tasty mods that will suit the Black Arrow. For the Moment He enjoys the 160hp+ Oil-cooled Horsepower and modern handling and Braking in the the Twisty Alp roads.

Here is a bit more detail about the bike from the current owner Apa Paul Karis. The bike changed hands between me and Gary, It was sold to a friend of mine called Jake Thackray. Jake has a few things re-welded by a good friend at SP8 engineering and re-fabricated.
He added the ohlins and dymags also painted the tank himself with gold leaf on the decals.
